Come here for: Various foods from diverse vendors in an outdoor setting
What are the vibes? little hectic due to the location, fun group outing
My friend invited me to check out the Broadway Bites pop-up by Urbanspace. Located in Greeley Square Park, it occurs annually in the fall. This year’s dates are from September 8th to October 14, 2022. It operates daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. There are several vendors with different cuisines around the world. Here’s what you can find there:
BÀO Tea House

BÀO Tea House was opened in New York City after being influenced by Chinese culture and cuisine. Their main location is in Greenwich Village. They can also be found at Urbanspace’s Winter Market in Union Square Park and Spring Market in Bryant Park as well as at Smorgasburg in Brooklyn. They serve bao and tea (hence the name). They combine traditional Chinese and modern New York food making a crunchier bun and providing high quality tea. They were offering their pork belly, fried chicken, impossible and fried fish steamed buns. We ordered them all. I tried the fried chicken and impossible. The fried chicken was really good. I loved the homemade chili sauce and mayo. The pork belly didn’t look too appealing in my opinion. I recommended going and trying the fried chicken bun.
You can also find them at:

Bull Chicken

Bull Chicken is inspired by Dakgangjeong: Korean styled fried chicken. They serve fried chicken sandwiches, chicken bites and sides. We ordered their bull and cheese snow bites and their bull chicken and Korean BBQ sandwiches. I got the cheese snow bites which are fried chicken with powdered cheese and Korean BBQ chicken sandwiches. The chicken bites came with fries which were very stale. Skip the fries and get one of the chicken sandwiches.

Casa Toscana

Per their Facebook page, two Tuscan guys named Luca from the same town in Tuscany (Arezzo) met in New York by chance and opened up Casa Toscana to share Tuscan food with New York City. They’re serving Italian sandwiches, bomboloni, and gelato. My friends tried their gelato (pictured above). I was way too full, but they said they really liked it. Check it out.

Bryant Park Winter Village from October 28, 2022 – January 2, 2023
Crepe Cafe
Crepe Cafe is a creperie pop-up since 2004 that specializes in sweet and savory crepes. We didn’t get anything from there, but check it out for yourself. People seem to like it on Yelp.
You can also find them at:
Bryant Park Winter Village from October 28, 2022 – January 2, 2023
Enfes

Enfes is serving homemade Turkish food. We all ordered gözleme, a flatbread sandwich with different fillings. I ordered one with falafel. It was served with roasted red pepper hummus and pickled vegetables. They also have baklava which I love. Definitely give it a try.
You can also find them at:
Bryant Park Winter Village from October 28, 2022 – January 2, 2023
Columbus Circle Holiday Market from November 28, 2022 – December 24, 2022
Frida’s Favorites

Frida’s Favorites is a Mexican pop-up. I got a chicken taco. Honestly, the chicken was not giving Mexican. It was very basic and not that flavorful. It was served with a green salsa that was a little bit spicy and kind of crucial to use to give the taco extra taste. Hit it with that salsa and lime and it’s okay, but I think you could skip this one.
Handcraft Burgers & Brews

Handcraft Burgers is serving hand-crafted, smash burgers, tater tots, fries and craft beer. My friend ordered the OG (double angus beef patties, cheddar, handcraft sauce), and I got the Truffle Shuffle (single beef patty, truffle spice, swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, truffle herb aioli) and their loaded bodega tots (chopped cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mayo). I honestly really liked their food and am going to check out their official location for more. Definitely check them out!
You can also find them at:
110 W 40th St., New York, NY 10018
Lazy Dog

This was a market that was exclusive to Broadway Bites. They had Korean corn dogs which I love. My friend ordered one with cheese and wrapped in crispy potatoes. She loaded it up with sweet chili sauce, honey mustard and ketchup. It was pretty good. Check it out.
Mama’s Cupboard

This is a Vietnamese spot. They have bahn-mi sandwiches, salad, rice and noodle bowls. It’s served up Chipotle style with you choosing your base, protein, etc. All I got from here was a curry puff which was pretty good. I would check out the actual location for more.
You can also find them at:
Mama’s Cupboard, 235 E 53rd St, New York, NY 10022
Mysttik Masaala

Mysttik Masaala is an Indian food truck. They have locations in Queens, Brooklyn and at Urbanspace. They have a bunch of different veg and non-veg Indian dishes that you can order as well as naan rolls. They were almost sold out of everything by the time we got to them. The owner was there and personally made samosa chaat for us. I would definitely go back and try one of their dishes.
You can also find them at:
4731 Center Blvd. Corner 47th Rd Long Island City, NY-11109
238 Bedford Ave, Brooklyn, NY-11211 – Williamsburg
URBANSPACE, 230 Park Ave, New York, NY 10169
Petisco Brazuca

Petisco Brazuca is a Brazilian snack shop. They have an actual location and can be found at Smorgasburg. We got the coxinha (croquettes with shredded chicken) and empanadas. They had cheese, chicken and beef. I ordered the cheese empanada. Everything was pretty good. Not my favorite. I’ve had Brazilian bites like these before and wasn’t crazy about it (personal preference), but they were super nice and I still suggest checking it out for yourself.
You can also find them at:
Petisco Brazuca Snack Shop and Smorgasburg
Sea Park

This was another market exclusive to Broadway bites. I ordered the lobster fries and they were terrible. The fries were stale like the one’s at Bull Chicken and the lobster tasted canned and not good at all. Big pass on this one. They also have lobster rolls. I wouldn’t take a chance. Skip.
Toastieland
Toastieland is an Australian bakehouse serving rainbow grilled cheese. It’s popular on social media. I honestly didn’t even see it there and probably wouldn’t try it. Not really into gimmicky colorful foods, but if you are…have at it!
You can also find them at:
Smorgasburg Brooklyn
Yankee Doodle Dandy’s
Yankee Doodle Dandy’s is known for their chicken fingers and other All-American eats. This was another spot I was way too full to order anything from, but see what it’s about for yourself. You can also find them using their truck locator to see where the truck is on the website.
Bottom line: Check this out with a group of friends and order your favorites and split everything. It’s worth checking out if you’re in the area, otherwise just go to one of the indoor Urbanspace locations and avoid the chaos of Midtown.
